You are the sweetest thing. Thank you so much for asking. :) It’s been 10 days since the news came and I think everyone in my family, me included, is doing ok. The immediate cry-your-eyes-out-I-can’t-believe-it-ness has let up. And, I think because my family is feeling a teensy bit better, I feel better too, if that makes sense. I appreciate you so much.
I figured you were a backroads girl. We’re peas in a pod. Bet the backroads over your way are pretty!
Oh yes! My parents live in the same town as his. They are visiting them frequently. Taking care of each other is spot on. We live 5 hours away- so I’ve been sending cards in the mail. :)
Beautiful photos! I’ll take the backroads!! I especially like the stream, that’s where I want to be today, it’s 105 with a heat index of 120 here in Kansas.
I’m so excited about Little Bit taking riding lessons!! Kids benefit so much having horses in their lives. My son grew up with horses and spent hours riding out in the pasture. Showed them, and also dog, calves, chickens at 4-H. I also love a program in Nixa, Missouri, the H.A.Y Foundation that targets at risk kids and provides them with horsemanship lessons and riding! Fabulous. My grandson has taken riding lessons for years. Is he riding Western or English. We’re Western back here. Oh goodness you can see I’m passionate about kids and horses! Champ is doing good, he’s on a supplement that helps him. Thanks for thinking of him.
Ohhhh! I love that your son grew up with horses and 4-H! And, that your grandson rides. You made me smile like a billion times when I read your comment!
Little Bit was in hippotherapy a couple years ago. I remember the first time they put him on a horse. He smiled the entire time. He’s like a horse magnet. He likes them, they like him.
There’s a Quarter Horse farm near us that boards and gives riding lessons. They offer both Western and English, but I’m not sure what she’ll teach him. Today they worked on basics, whoa, going, steering. :)
They have a beautiful place. 1,000 acres of rolling hills. We see their horses gracing those hilltops when we go to a neighboring town. Pretty awesome…
Thanks, Sylvia. It’s kind of funny because when I spotted him there on the rock, I INSTANTLY thought of you!!
It wasn’t out my bathroom window though. :) This was at a small country cemetery, a mile from my house. He saw me and he froze. :) Not quite as big as the fellas at your place!
What wonderful back roads! When I have the time I always opt for the backroads.

If I have the time, I prefer backroads. Of course, if I could, I’d love to travel everywhere by hot air balloon!

Back roads all the way! I agree with Sandy’s comment – it’s about enjoying the scenery. And getting away from all things busy. :)
How have you been since your friend passed away? I hope you’re doing alright despite the shocking news and the sadness. xx

You’ve got a heart of gold. :)
I’m glad to hear you and your family (and probably your friend’s family) are supporting each other during this difficult time. xoxo

Holy smokes! 105/120??? Oh girl. That’s just AWFUL. Yes, the stream sounds really nice for you, I bet! How is your horse liking that heat?
Little Bit had his first riding lesson this morning. It was only about 88.

I’ve heard of the H.A.Y. Foundation, but I didn’t know it was in Nixa. That’s pretty neat.

It’s nice to slow down a bit and enjoy the scenery, instead of whizzing past it.
