Today, I was reminded of a post I wrote a few days ago about how sometimes when we change where we stand, our perspective can change. (You can read it here if you like.)
Little Bit and I decided to take advantage of our 63 degree weather by going for a Sunday drive. With all our windows rolled down, we just took off with no plans in sight.
Our first road took us to another bridge we’ve crossed a billion times. It has been at least 10 years since I got out of my truck there to take a picture, so today seemed like the perfect time to do it.
I went down beside the water and it was just so beautiful. All the peace and tranquility you’d expect with a smidgen of sand to draw in, and to my left?
Almost a forest.
Suddenly, I found myself stepping in decayed, wet leaves and crawling under tree limbs, trying to get close to the rock ledge so I could show you these amazing, wild ferns.
In Maine we have “Cinnamon Ferns” that can grow to 4 feet high and 5 or more feet around. Just fantastic.

Its so cool to see 30 or 40 next to a stream under the canopy of the pines. I will get some pics this summer.
