Symphony at Sunset

Tuesday we met the realtors at our lake property. After they left, I had a few things to finish up, so my husband and Little Bit left for home before I did.

When my chores were done, I went down to the lake to catch the last rays of the day.

As soon as I got out of my truck, I heard some movement in the water, followed by “someone” clearly giving me a piece of  their mind.

Geese.

Evidently, they weren’t in the mood for company, which is fine. I mean, who could blame them? It’s so quietly beautiful down there.

They were probably pretty happy with me. I didn’t hang around very long. In fact, I only stayed long enough to hear their symphony at sunset.

Lovely post, Jessica. It sounds like you lead a very peaceful life.

Hi. Thank you so much. I haven’t written anything in almost 2 weeks. Getting the cabin ready to sell was a ton of work. I love what you said about a peaceful life. What a great description. I’ve never thought of it that way. Compared to some, we definitely do. Nature is part of our every-days. Thanks for your kind remarks. :)

Such a beautiful place. I love the sense of peace. The sound of the geese is quite hypnotic. šŸ˜Š

Hi. How are you? I love what you said. It is a peaceful time of year down there. We’ve been working weekends down there for a few months getting our cabin ready to sell and have rarely seen anyone. Come summer, it’ll get busy with vacationers and the holidays draw a crowd. For now, it’s mostly geese, deer, and bats.

I am good thanks Jessica. Sounds like you get to visit at the best time. Good luck with the sale x

    Your own private concert. Wonderful!

    • Jessica April 1, 2017 / 9:33 am

I couldn’t believe how amazing the were. The echoes are really something.

Geese fly over our house to reach a small pond. They fly low and their honking is melodic!

        • Jessica April 1, 2017 / 11:16 am

Oh my goodness, now I want to come over!!! Ha. Bet that is beautiful. :)

Geese give the best concerts. Loved this post…..all of it.
I love hearing the pairs of geese that are still hanging around our area. They fly back to the river every night and sound wonderful as they go.

    • Jessica April 1, 2017 / 2:53 pm

Aw! Thank you. You spoil me with your words. There is just something so special about living by a river, don’t you think? The next place we buy has to have water on it or I’m not moving!!! :)

    • Jessica April 1, 2017 / 9:20 pm

Oh my gosh!! Only you! Ha ha.

This is the way to hear the geese (as opposed to in the middle of the night when they wake up and think “Gosh darn it, if we aren’t going to sleep, no one who lives near us is going to sleep, either!”).

    • Jessica April 2, 2017 / 5:58 pm

Ha!! They sure can wake a person up!! Noisy! :)

When I think of geese I always think of the ones that chased me when I was a little girl. šŸ™‚ But these sound so nice. So tranquil and beautiful xo

    • Jessica April 4, 2017 / 7:07 am

Oh, darn. I forgot about that…

      • Miriam April 4, 2017 / 7:13 am

Haha, not to worry … I still love the sound they make. šŸ˜Š

    • Jessica April 4, 2017 / 7:07 am

      Hey, how’s your new job?

      • Miriam April 4, 2017 / 7:14 am

To be quite honest Jess it’s been really hard. Mainly due to one person unfortunately.

        • Jessica April 4, 2017 / 3:08 pm

I had a feeling. A soul sister thing.

    • Jessica April 4, 2017 / 11:01 pm

Wow!! Master???? That is wayyyyy beyond a compliment, my friend! Thank you so much! I’m glad you liked it. They were certainly surprised to see me and not real crazy that I was there. So funny. It’s a beautiful place down there.

        • Jessica April 5, 2017 / 11:32 pm

Guess it’s that old soul buried deep in my heart. Thank you, sweetie.

LOVED the video. I’m scared silly of Geese and the the little b*ggers know it too. They make a full steam ahead run to wherever I am and honk honk honk around me. They’re laughing at me. I can hear it. No one else can hear them laughing, they can just hear geese. But I KNOW they’re laughing at me. I’m no fool.

But … I think they’re just beautiful creatures, and adore the noise they make. It kind of brings a smile to my heart.

Beautiful post Jessica. Thank you so much for the share.
    Sending squidges ~ Cobs. x
