The Creek With a Sunset

It’s pretty hectic around here lately. We got our lake house listed with the real estate company a few weeks ago, and since then, I’ve been working on getting our “house” house ready to “get ready” to sell.

Wow! That’s a mouthful! Basically, I’ve been about knee high in stuff. Sorting toys, cleaning closets, making bags for donations, packing, etc. All the normal things that go along with moving.

Today a nice gentleman came and cleaned our carpets and tomorrow my parents are coming to help us paint. The days sure seem overloaded in busy.

But, even in the middle of busy, Little Bit and I have been going to check on the tadpoles. Every few days we drive over to look at them and see if they’ve grown legs.

As of two nights ago, not yet. They still seem quite happy swimming about in their giant puddle. The days have been kind to them and recent rains have kept their home in a decent supply of water.

While there, I am instantly reminded why I feel such a draw to nature. Maybe it’s the simplicity in the way the sounds and colors lend calm even in chaos. Nature puts even the longest to-do lists in their place.

Our upcoming move is starting to get real these days. I feel pretty lucky that even on days filled with have-to-do’s, there’s sort of a mini vacation nearby, at  the creek with a sunset.

    • Hi, my husband has a transfer and we think we will be moving a couple hours east of here. I know what you mean, I’ve been knee deep in sorting and can’t remember where all this stuff came from, ha ha.

      • It looks it. Sorry to be a bit late in commenting but I went to visit my mother and sister. So busy, plus they live in a house that backs onto a cliff, making internet patchy at best. Good luck with all your house sales and decorating!

        • Wow, I bet that was a nice visit. It’s good to see family. I can just imagine a house that backs onto a cliff. Bet with a view like that, internet is not needed. Glad you’re back. I am wayyyyy behind on reading your posts. Forgive me?

          • Oh, always forgiven. It is impossible to keep up with everyone all the time. An occasional stopping by is lovely. I try to catch up with everything if I am away for a few days but it is just not possible. Life is busy!

    • This weekend????

We did get a lot done. Mom is a painting queen. Dad did a ton, too. I got 2 bedrooms done, mom got the dining room, living room, part of the kitchen, part of the hall done. It looks so fancy in here.

We still have 2 bathrooms, upstairs, and a bedroom left. Big house. Then, I need to do flowerbeds…

It was great having mom and dad here– went too fast, of course.

    • Well, hi. Suck a lovely surprise to see you here. I am so happy that you loved the video. That place make my heart sooooo happy. And, from the road, it doesn’t look like much. The beauty is to step out of the vehicle.

Thank you. I am a bit sad to leave but honestly, I will be SO GLAD when all this work is done! :)
