The Creek With a Sunset

It’s pretty hectic around here lately. We got our lake house listed with the real estate company a few weeks ago, and since then, I’ve been working on getting our “house” house ready to “get ready” to sell.

Wow! That’s a mouthful! Basically, I’ve been about knee high in stuff. Sorting toys, cleaning closets, making bags for donations, packing, etc. All the normal things that go along with moving.

Today a nice gentleman came and cleaned our carpets and tomorrow my parents are coming to help us paint. The days sure seem overloaded in busy.

But, even in the middle of busy, Little Bit and I have been going to check on the tadpoles. Every few days we drive over to look at them and see if they’ve grown legs.

As of two nights ago, not yet. They still seem quite happy swimming about in their giant puddle. The days have been kind to them and recent rains have kept their home in a decent supply of water.

While there, I am instantly reminded why I feel such a draw to nature. Maybe it’s the simplicity in the way the sounds and colors lend calm even in chaos. Nature puts even the longest to-do lists in their place.

Our upcoming move is starting to get real these days. I feel pretty lucky that even on days filled with have-to-do’s, there’s sort of a mini vacation nearby, at  the creek with a sunset.

Well, hi. Suck a lovely surprise to see you here. I am so happy that you loved the video. That place make my heart sooooo happy. And, from the road, it doesn’t look like much. The beauty is to step out of the vehicle.

Thank you. I am a bit sad to leave but honestly, I will be SO GLAD when all this work is done! :)

That creek is so beautiful! I’m glad you are making progress with your move. It’s so
    much work.

It is a beautiful place. I can’t seem to stop sharing it with you guys.

Yes, making some progress. You are right! It’s so much work. I’m tired. ha. The carpet is about dry, now I’m staring at my dining room with the contents of 3 rooms in it and dreading putting everything back where it belongs. Don’t get wrong, I want it back where it belongs, but don’t want to DO it.

I hear you. Don’t you wish you had a crew of elves to whip everything back in shape while you relax?

        • Jessica April 20, 2017 / 11:11 pm

          Oh my gosh YES!!!!

Love the pictures and video! Will you have a creek to hang out at after you move? I sure hope so!

    • Jessica April 20, 2017 / 11:13 pm

Hi. Thank you so much. I just adore that place! I hope so too. I’ve got my eye out for land with a pond for sure and the area we’re hoping to land HAS these clear water creeks! Woo hoo!!

Beautiful as usual. Hope things are progressing smoothly, and that when your parents arrive, and after you’ve had enough painting, you and your dad can stop and do The Merle.

    • Jessica April 21, 2017 / 9:58 am

Oh my gosh. I LOVE your heart!! Yes, The Merle! ❤️❤️❤️

      • karenlee April 21, 2017 / 10:01 am

Love that rolling creek. Could sit by that creek and listen all day. Nature is so wonderful. Good luck on your sale.

    • Jessica April 21, 2017 / 10:00 am

Come on over, we’ll go sit and soak up some of the creek’s awesomeness. 🌻☀️ Thank you, we’ve got one on the market and getting this one all gussied up. I’m painting bedrooms and halls today. Hope you have a beautiful day!

      • peggyjoan42 April 21, 2017 / 10:02 am

Would love to sit with you by that creek. A beautiful day to you too – busy lady. :)

I like the thought of the evenings in nature as a “mini vacation” – that just seems so happy!

    • Jessica April 21, 2017 / 12:35 pm

Thank you for that amazing comment.

Nature shows us just how simple one can live and still feel like the kings and queens of our surroundings.

    • Jessica April 21, 2017 / 11:17 pm

Your poetic writing and outlook is the BEST. What a perfect description. Kings and queens is right!

    • Jessica April 22, 2017 / 9:07 am

Thank you and thank you!! ☀️🌸

Missouri streams are SO beautiful! Can’t wait until I can see one, hopefully this weekend!!
I can’t believe how busy you are, and know you will get alot done with your parents helping. What fun!!

    • Jessica April 24, 2017 / 11:54 am

      This weekend????

We did get a lot done. Mom is a painting queen. Dad did a ton, too. I got 2 bedrooms done, mom got the dining room, living room, part of the kitchen, part of the hall done. It looks so fancy in here.

We still have 2 bathrooms, upstairs, and a bedroom left. Big house. Then, I need to do flowerbeds…

It was great having mom and dad here– went too fast, of course.

I’ve enjoyed reading and seeing photos of your wonderful house lake property. It’s so serene and beautiful. Best of luck with your move.

    • Jessica April 26, 2017 / 12:38 pm

Wow. Thank you so much, I am thrilled to know you’ve enjoyed it. Thank you for the luck, I appreciate that.

    Great photos!

    • Jessica April 26, 2017 / 3:57 pm

Hi there. How are you doing? Thank you. It’s a beautiful place.

      • PaperPuff April 26, 2017 / 4:20 pm

It looks it. Sorry to be a bit late in commenting but I went to visit my mother and sister. So busy, plus they live in a house that backs onto a cliff, making internet patchy at best. Good luck with all your house sales and decorating!

        • Jessica April 26, 2017 / 6:14 pm

Wow, I bet that was a nice visit. It’s good to see family. I can just imagine a house that backs onto a cliff. Bet with a view like that, internet is not needed. Glad you’re back. I am wayyyyy behind on reading your posts. Forgive me?

          • PaperPuff April 26, 2017 / 6:34 pm

Oh, always forgiven. It is impossible to keep up with everyone all the time. An occasional stopping by is lovely. I try to catch up with everything if I am away for a few days but it is just not possible. Life is busy!

          • Jessica April 26, 2017 / 9:52 pm

Aw, thank you for your kindness. It does seem easy to get behind. I do like to keep up with everyone, but time disappears so quickly.

I’ve missed the news, Jess… where are you moving to? Good luck with it! I’m dreading the day when we have to sort out this place :) :)

    • Jessica April 29, 2017 / 12:34 am

Hi, my husband has a transfer and we think we will be moving a couple hours east of here. I know what you mean, I’ve been knee deep in sorting and can’t remember where all this stuff came from, ha ha.

    • Jessica May 4, 2017 / 4:25 pm

Thank you. It is a wonderful place. :)
