I guess they wanted to come early. Beautiful. ๐ป๐ธ๐ท๐ป
I was going to ask how the move is going Jess but I just read your comments to Sandy. Sounds like you’re in a good place though.
Hey girl, I was just thinking the other day that I haven’t talked to you in a looooooong time. I am on the runaway train of “not getting any blogs read”. What’s new an ocean away? Been camping lately? Still working? How are the kids, Doug, and Harry?
Yes, I decided to let go of the “why isn’ts” and live my life. So much freedom in that.
Hey Jessica, great to hear from you. Life goes on here as usual, we’re all well, ups and downs you know, but we’re heading off for a big camping/road trip in a couple of weeks time, which I’m really looking forward to. It’s something we’ve wanted to do for years, travelling right up the heart of Australia to Uluru. My job didn’t work out, my boss put an end to that but that’s in the past.
Glad to hear that you’re feeling that freedom. Life’s too short to worry about things that we have no control over. Take care Jess. Big hugs to you and your lovely family. xo ๐ท๐
I wondered about that job. You never said much about it again after I tried to get you to quit… I thought maybe I offended you or sounded bossy. Your camping trip sounds divine. Glad you get to go somewhere you’ve always wanted to go. Excited for you.
I’ll have to read it. I’m behind. Health issues. I’ve had my nose in health/ healing books for 3 weeks at least. I’ve only written two blog posts in 4 weeks… Hope to figure this illness out soon. Then, I can get caught up on blog reading I hope.
I hear ya. I haven’t even been anywhere and I’ve been a bit out of blogging mode. What did the pets think when you got home?? Bet they were excited to see you!!
They were actually asleep when I got home – I don’t think Choppy heard the garage door open or shut, because Schooner definitely beat her down the stairs to say hello!
Oh my gosh- what an amazing visual! I’m so glad you commented!! Love the idea of children in flower filled fields ๐ป๐ธ. How are you doing? Sorry I’m so behind on blog reading. Love your blog!
It’s probably because we have been talking about that with mum :) I’m really good, few more weeks of work before the holidays. That’s so sweet, thank you – and no worries, happens to me all the time as well!
I haven’t blogged or read blogs in a couple weeks. I’ve been researching and reading medical issues/ books on natural healing. I think I read 6 books in a week! Brain overload! Doesn’t leave much room for writing- ha.
Hi Faye. Thank you. I’ve missed you. I haven’t posted for weeks– brain is stuck. They are unique, aren’t they? If you’ve walked beans like I have, who would’ve thought a thistle could be so pretty?? Ha!
I still walk beans!!! And the goldfinches love those thistles. I now leave a small patch behind my garden for them.
I am not blogging as much either…just a busy time of year and yes a stuck brain also LOL.
Two beans in a pod instead of peas. Ha. You still walk beans??? I thought they did away with that. Chemicals and such. I didn’t know goldfinches loved them. I’ll have to watch these. We have lots of finches at the feeder.
Oh good, glad your brain is stuck, too. Maybe I won’t be so far behind on reading your posts!! Ha!!
A lot of the weeds are becoming chemical resistant so people are starting to cultivate and walk them again. Harder on us but probably better on the environment!
At first I was upset and mad because it’s not selling and I have half a house full of packed things. Plus, we had all these plans about making new friends, joining a new 4H, etc THERE, so not getting anywhere made me really feel stuck…in transition. But, after a few weeks of that I came to the realization that we don’t HAVE to wait to make friends and live our life.
I decided to join a new homeschool co-op here. We are making new friends here. We are enjoying our house here. Like a lightbulb moment for me. What I realized is I can’t control who buys our cabin and when, so when it happens, it happens. I am at total peace with that now. But, it was a process to get to this point.
Moving is SO stressful, even when everything falls into place. And being a control freak, I understand how hard it can be to wait for things to come together.
I’m glad you have been able to move forward.
Oh, I’m so happy to hear you are a control freak, too!! Ha ha! Well, I finally figured out that being mad about the cabin was making me miserable and time doesn’t stop- so might as well enjoy whatever time we have left here…
Lovely photographs, Jessica. Flowers are so wonderful!

You would never offend me Jess! The job sounded perfect but unfortunately the boss had her own ideas. I wrote all about it in Beware of Snakes.

Schooner is quite a character!! Bet Choppy was sure surprised to wake up and find you home!

She came down shortly after Schooner. Perhaps Choppy got started first, but Schooner just be her because he’s a speedy little feline.

He had an accident. Broke his right wrist and both bones in lower left leg. He had surgery and now has a metal rod INSIDE one of the leg bones. ๐

Hi. Thank you so much. There is a beautiful variety in wildflowers.
No luck yet on selling our lake cabin. It’s been on the market 2 months and not one person has been in it to look!! So… our move is at a stand still.
