Yesterday, in a ditch completely submerged with weeds and the notorious “no one ever wants to see” poison ivy, sat the most eye-catching array of oranges.

Love this post! For years I’ve been extolling the virtues of milkweed. It’s nice to see growing wild, although overlooked. All of my former students were sent home this year with milkweed seeds and zinnia seeds planted in pots, ready for a butterfly garden!

Ohhhhh how awesome that they went home with milkweed and zinnia seeds!! So happy you love this post! I was quite surprised to see this lovely plant there. In fact, as our drive continued, I saw several more of them on the fence rows. They’re so beautiful.

I was riding down the road just yesterday and saw this orange milkweed everywhere. It is beautiful. I have some planted in my yard and the insects and butterflies love it. Nice photos Jessica.
