Gratitude:
- my long driveway
My neighbor walks 30 miles on her driveway. I decided to start walking, too. I just walked 22 laps on mine.
2. 10 acres
Having 10 acres allows me the freedom to sing as loud as I want to Fleetwood Mac and 10,000 Maniacs songs while walking those 22 laps. Ha ha!
3. Taking a chigger risk.
We have a huge back pasture. There’s wildflowers everywhere. Last time I came out here was in June and I got chigger bites soooooo bad. Itch city. Today’s the first day I’ve been back out here.
I’m standing out here right now. It’s rumored that someone my husband knows is going to come brush hog (mow) this pasture in a few weeks.
At first, I freaked out! What about the deer? My husband assured me that there will still be plenty of places for them to eat and bed down.
When I just turned to walk the fence row, I saw a deer run the opposite way. I apologized to her for intruding in on her space on such a lovely day.
There’s a soul lifting breeze out here. Bugs are singing. Leaves are blowing. There goes a monarch butterfly.
Miracle photos:
- Millie

Millie is a true miracle. She was born on my front porch in August 2021. She was the last kitten born and she wasn’t breathing. I tried rubbing her, warming her up, etc to see if she’d get a breath. Nothing.
I ran inside to get the phone to search ‘kitten cpr” and when I got back to the porch, she had started breathing. Yay!!! Sweet thing.
2. Art Supplies

Art supplies are pretty miraculous. With some glue and things, some really cool stuff can be made.
Thank you for being here! Feel free to comment with your first day gratitude and/ or miracles you’ve seen.

I like your art. It would be a true miracle if my attempts at crafting looked good. With the encouragement of everyone around me, I quit trying decades ago. That’s my miracle for today — realizing I knew when to quit.

Thanks. I like making it. I think you mentioned trying egg carton flowers once and art really wasn’t your thing.

What a good memory you have!! I’m glad I didn’t repeat myself and tell that story again.

You can repeat yourself anytime. I like talking to you. I was reading older blog posts from several years ago and we even chatted on those. Pretty neat!

Yes, be careful of chiggers – we have ticks, so I’m always doing a tick check to ensure I don’t bring one of those buggers home with me.

Ticks are MEAN!!!! We have them here, too. This year seed ticks have been bad. So far so good, from my pasture stroll today. Hopefully tomorrow I will remain bug bite free!

This is the second or third year that ticks are bad for us too Jessica and in late Summer it is the mosquitoes and West Nile. I just wear shorts to the Park where I walk every day, but bigger parks on weekends as I am there longer and go into woodsier areas, I also wear pants and do a “tick check” – worried about getting them. One of our local weathermen got Lyme Disease and had to leave his job and does not work – just getting out of bed to walk down the hall is debilitating for him.

Having a home on ten acres sounds very nice! Your kitty is so cute! Here’s my 3 gratitude: 1) We are going camping this week. 2) Having a travel trailer which allows us to go camping and 3) My ex-sister-in-law who reads and comments in a positive, enthusiastic way on my blog. 2 miracles: 1) Beautiful Fall Weather 2) My three children. I don’t know if I’ll be able to keep this up every day, but I will do my best!

We are just going to Carlyle Lake for four nights. Later in October, we are going back to Greenville Recreation Area. We love it there.

Hi!! How are you doing? Haha- yes! Chiggers are pretty terrible. I had never even heard of them until I moved to southern Missouri 20 some years ago. It’s said that they’re so small you can’t see them, but they bite!!!
