We went to one of those old fashioned parks a couple of days ago. The tire-swing swings and the wooden merry-go-round were great, but I think my favorite part was the slide with steps that said American.

Me neither! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a wooden one around here. We had the old metal ones that rusted.

Guess they don’t have these there? This one is about 20 miles from in a tiny town. There was no one there but us, but I bet in spring, it’s busy. Love the fact that the same equipment keeps making memories. ❤️

Roundabouts always made me sick and when I had my own children I was always terrified of them being flung off or getting their foot trapped under the edge – kids used to like sitting with their foot trailing the ground as it turned faster and faster, there was always some much bigger child pushing it for all they were worth, horrible nightmarish things!

The park in our small town used to have a slide just like that. They took it down several years ago as they felt it was too tall and not safe…..it was a sad day.
