Tuesday we met the realtors at our lake property. After they left, I had a few things to finish up, so my husband and Little Bit left for home before I did.
When my chores were done, I went down to the lake to catch the last rays of the day.
As soon as I got out of my truck, I heard some movement in the water, followed by “someone” clearly giving me a piece of their mind.
Geese.
Evidently, they weren’t in the mood for company, which is fine. I mean, who could blame them? It’s so quietly beautiful down there.
They were probably pretty happy with me. I didn’t hang around very long. In fact, I only stayed long enough to hear their symphony at sunset.
You definitely are going to miss that place!!! Knowing full well that you will find beauty and serenity where ever you are!!

LOVED the video. I’m scared silly of Geese and the the little b*ggers know it too. They make a full steam ahead run to wherever I am and honk honk honk around me. They’re laughing at me. I can hear it. No one else can hear them laughing, they can just hear geese. But I KNOW they’re laughing at me. I’m no fool.
But … I think they’re just beautiful creatures, and adore the noise they make. It kind of brings a smile to my heart.
Beautiful post Jessica. Thank you so much for the share.

When I think of geese I always think of the ones that chased me when I was a little girl. 🙂 But these sound so nice. So tranquil and beautiful xo

To be quite honest Jess it’s been really hard. Mainly due to one person unfortunately.

This is the way to hear the geese (as opposed to in the middle of the night when they wake up and think “Gosh darn it, if we aren’t going to sleep, no one who lives near us is going to sleep, either!”).

Geese give the best concerts. Loved this post…..all of it.
I love hearing the pairs of geese that are still hanging around our area. They fly back to the river every night and sound wonderful as they go.

Aw! Thank you. You spoil me with your words. There is just something so special about living by a river, don’t you think? The next place we buy has to have water on it or I’m not moving!!! :)

Geese fly over our house to reach a small pond. They fly low and their honking is melodic!

Hi. How are you? I love what you said. It is a peaceful time of year down there. We’ve been working weekends down there for a few months getting our cabin ready to sell and have rarely seen anyone. Come summer, it’ll get busy with vacationers and the holidays draw a crowd. For now, it’s mostly geese, deer, and bats.

Hi. Thank you so much. I haven’t written anything in almost 2 weeks. Getting the cabin ready to sell was a ton of work. I love what you said about a peaceful life. What a great description. I’ve never thought of it that way. Compared to some, we definitely do. Nature is part of our every-days. Thanks for your kind remarks. :)
